Meet Curtis Lacy

Curtis Lacy
Partner | Wealth Manager

I love helping people at every stage of life.”

Curtis Lacy has more than two decades of experience as a financial advisor. He is a fee-based financial fiduciary holding his Series 65 registration as well as his life, accident and health insurance license in Texas. While growing up in the small town of Cisco, Texas, Curtis developed his strong work ethic. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in finance.

Curtis, along with a team of multi-disciplined professionals, focuses on delivering value by using the team’s collective experience and knowledge of investment planning, risk management and insurance, and liability management. He especially enjoys working on complex financial and tax planning issues, like those faced by farmers, land owners and business owners, working closely with client CPAs and tax professionals to find tax mitigation solutions.

Many of Curtis’ clients need help with retirement planning. As he puts it, “I’ve walked through this process dozens of times, my clients just once. I do everything possible to make it easy and successful for them.”

Curtis’ experience in the financial services industry is extensive. Before joining Rollo Wealth Management, he worked at Wells Fargo as a financial advisor for more than eight years and at BBVA Compass Investment Solutions as a personal investment officer for almost three years. Prior to that he spent more than five years as a senior investment officer at Guaranty Brokerage Services.

When he’s not working, Curtis loves spending time with his family. His wife, Rachel, teaches at a local high school in College Station. The couple has three children, Ellie, Cade and Jude, who are active in riding horses and practicing Tae Kwon Do. Together, the family is active in their community by serving at their local church; Curtis is also involved with the local Chamber of Commerce. They raise registered Texas Blue Lacy game dogs.

During the last two decades, Curtis has developed his own comprehensive process:

My process provides clarity.

My holistic process guides individuals and families in building, managing, protecting and transitioning wealth. Eschewing a “one-size-fits-all” philosophy, I approach each person’s management needs individually, gathering a carefully-tailored team of professionals who work with me to formulate a comprehensive and customized wealth management plan for each situation. This collaboration allows me to implement a personalized plan and provide ongoing guidance and direction.

I begin by listening.

After fully understanding our client’s personal and financial goals, we roll-up our sleeves and go to work. We will study and analyze the current situation before we develop, model, and test various ways to meet the objectives. My process guides us to consistently render our judgments with care, skill, and caution on behalf of our clients.

My experience adds value.

I was raised to value hard work and maintaining a good reputation while growing up in the small west Texas town of Cisco. I continued my education at Texas A&M University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration focused in finance. Additionally, for the last 20 years, I have eagerly continued to pursue advanced training and professional development that I bring to each client relationship.

Curtis loves helping people with their finances.

HIS STORY:

Why I became a financial advisor:

“After I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in finance, I went forward with studies at a Christian seminary and planned to become a family minister. While I never was ordained, I spent several years as a youth and family minister. and went abroad to Thailand for almost a year as part of my training.

I began noticing that people who sought counseling were often going through crises or transitions in life. Many were impacted by financial issues—often there were financial mistakes made by families that had a negative effect on them. I found myself led to help and counsel about finances while providing spiritual and emotional support.

My life and career path changed when I met a curly-headed girl and fell in love—I returned to the States and got married in 2004. But to this day, I feel my actual calling is to counsel people by helping them with their finances. If I can help make sure that a client is okay and that they start to be able to sleep at night instead of worrying about money issues that they are afraid of, I have done my job well.”
